Text of the provision

Art. 665. The other owners who have not contributed in giving increased height, depth or thickness to the wall may, nevertheless, acquire the right of part-ownership therein, by paying proportionally the value of the work at the time of the acquisition and of the land used for its increased thickness.

What this article means

An owner who did not pay for making a party wall taller, deeper or thicker can still become a part-owner of that added portion later. He does so by paying his proportional share of the value of the work, measured at the time he acquires the right, plus the value of the land taken up by the extra thickness.
