Text of the provision
Art. 2170. When by accident or other fortuitous event, movables separately pertaining to two or more persons are commingled or confused, the rules on co-ownership shall be applicable.

When movables are separated from an estate by accident or fortuitous event and carried onto another's land, the owner of the land must return them — he cannot keep what chance deposited on his property.
