The right to hunt and to fish is regulated by special laws, not by this Code. Those separate statutes set the seasons, licences and limits.

Hunting and fishing involve wild animals and aquatic resources that are not treated the same way an occupant simply appropriates unowned land or ordinary wild animals under the general rules on occupation; because these activities affect shared natural resources and the public interest, the Code defers entirely to special laws for their regulation. This is a narrower carve-out than it might appear — it does not exempt hunting or fishing from regulation altogether, only from regulation by this Code.
