Art. 537. Acts merely tolerated, and those executed clandestinely and without the knowledge of the possessor of a thing, or by violence, do not affect possession.

What this article means
Acts merely tolerated, and acts done clandestinely, without the possessor's knowledge, or by violence, do not affect the existing possession. Tolerated occupation never ripens into adverse possession.
