Text of the provision
Art. 528. Possession acquired in good faith does not lose this character except in the case and from the moment facts exist which show that the possessor is not unaware that he possesses the thing improperly or wrongfully.

What this article means
Possession acquired in good faith keeps that character until facts show the possessor knows they hold the thing wrongfully. Good faith is interrupted from the moment such awareness arises — commonly, the service of summons in a suit for recovery.
