Text of the provision

Art. 417. The following are also considered as personal property:

(1) Obligations and actions which have for their object movables or demandable sums; and

(2) Shares of stock of agricultural, commercial and industrial entities, although they may have real estate.

What this article means

Beyond things that can be moved, the law also treats as personal property obligations and actions over movables or sums due, and shares of stock in companies — even a company that owns real estate. A shareholder owns personal property (the shares), not the corporation's land.
