Art. 1243. Payment made to the creditor by the debtor after the latter has been judicially ordered to retain the debt shall not be valid.

What this article means

Payment by the debtor to the creditor after the debt has been judicially ordered retained (garnished) is not valid as against the party who obtained the order.
