What this article means

This sets out who sits on the two overseas employment boards — both chaired by the Secretary of Labor and Employment, with the Undersecretary as vice-chairman and representatives from other departments, the Central Bank, and worker, employer or shipping groups. Each Board is attached to the Department of Labor for policy coordination, is assisted by a Secretariat headed by an Executive Director appointed by the President, and is audited through a representative of the Auditor General.

A note on article numbers. The articles of the Labor Code have been administratively renumbered, so the same provision is often cited under a different number. Supreme Court decisions write both, in the form “Article 297 [282]” — the new number first, the original in brackets. The text on this page is published under its original number, which is the numbering both source texts use. When citing, check which numbering your source follows.
