Text of the provision

Art. 83. These donations are governed by the rules on ordinary donations established in Title III of Book III of the Civil Code, insofar as they are not modified by the following articles.

What this article means

Donations by reason of marriage fall back on the Civil Code's ordinary rules on donations, except where the following Family Code articles — such as the Article 84 one-fifth limit — specifically modify them.
