Text of the provision
Art. 161. For purposes of availing of the benefits of a family home as provided for in this Chapter, a person may constitute, or be the beneficiary of, only one family home.

What this article means
The protection of a family home is a benefit the law grants once per person. A person may constitute only one family home, and may be a beneficiary of only one. The exemption from execution cannot be multiplied across several properties to shield a whole portfolio from creditors.
