Text of the provision

Art. 2050. If a guaranty is entered into without the knowledge or consent, or against the will of the principal debtor, the provisions of articles 1236 and 1237 shall apply.

What this article means

A guaranty made without the debtor's knowledge or against his will is governed by the third-person-payment rules (Arts. 1236-1237) as to reimbursement.
